They take "Hela" from Henrietta's body. And it became the most important things in medical. This is the most important conflict in this book. Doctor is ok to take cells or not. As doctors, they don't have right to takes the cells away from patients. If they take them must ask the patient and their family is ok to take it or not. And told them what their cells use for what. But on the other hand, they are doctor and research and cure other people base on a good purpose. In the book, Henrietta didn't know the doctor take her cells away and to do the research. When she is treating, the doctor told her that her cells can be immortal to live and save and help a lot of people. After the doctor told her, she feels happy about her pain can help more people in the world. As a doctor, they can't do that to a patient, even though they use for good reason. And also as a doctor, they have duty to save more people and Henrietta and do the research and cure them. It's a problem of right and duty. In different way has different way to discuss.
In that time didn’t have law to protect the people’s estate. Henrietta is a black woman and at that time black people have unfair right as white people. And people didn’t know what are the doctor doing and research for what. She is a black woman who didn’t have high education. In the hospital, she like a person knows nothing. Doctor didn’t tell her anything about what he doing that’s immoral. If doctor her about what he did and what he take. And Henrietta allow him to do that is legal.

Yesterday,I visited the club fair. One of them is recognizing academic excellence. It can help me to get grace score and improve my english skill. Mor ever, it had membership benefits like scholarship, academic achievement and career resources.
I rather like to join the dance on draw club. I love the drawing, but I don’t get them. Dancing can express the beautiful in girls body, and it show us different way from us still. Drawing is peace beauty. We can forget anything and travel into the picture world.
We heard two presentation this week. The first one is red. Neils and Be-Bop. This presentation showed that Henrietta is a real human even she is dead.
The second presentation is Human Guinea Pig. This presentation make me feel horrible. The unit 731 Medicine Experiment and Nazi Medicine Experiment was deeply disturbing to me.
I agree with the statement that teenager should have a job while they are still a student. If my view, it is good for ourself, family and countries.
This college hour is discuss high impact practices and the rules and policies of QCC. High impact practices help freshman for service and leaning communities. We learn knowledge from the class while practicably the knowledge outside of school. Another part of program is the common read, it is a common intellectual experience that promotes integrative learning across the curriculum. For example, when we can’t understand what the book talks about ,we can go there. Students help us understand the book better, and tell us what is going on.
When we finished the movie, the teacher let us discuss the movie. I like way of practicing speaking and speech skills. Therefore, I like this class and enjoy this style of learning.
Herriettta’s cells helped a lot of patient but do not get any benefit for her family. The government spent the money for Hela’s research. Even though Hela is successful for research, her family never get information for that. In my view, this is immoral and unjust. Her family has the right to knowing those information and get some benefit.
I hate reading. I think it’s so boring. However, for this book is interested so that I can continue to read it. In addition, I like to study with friends. At the library, we are studding together. In the class, we are my a group for discussing the questions. That it makes me understand more deeply. It helps me to read next part on book better. During, the discussion, we can ask question about vocabulary, paragraph or sentences. This way helps me to learn the new vocabulary and remember them.
It is practicing the hearing and speaking and it is also help us to prove take note taking skill.

Common Reading is a reading program that make different major’s student read and discuss together. Different major’s student will focus on different knowledge for same book. Student will learn more interesting knowledge from other major’s students. This semester we read “The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks”by Rebecca Skloot with college student. It’s a special experience for Clip students before start college life.
Common Reading has some interesting activity that really help student like to read. In this program we have at least once presentation from different major’s student and professor each week. We went to the library and science building sat with college student who from different class. We listened professors and students discussed the Hela Cell, cancer, discrimination, Johns Hopkins Hospital and culture. In my opinion, some student’s presentation are even better than their teachers. Some presentations showed us many picture about Henrietta’s family and discrimination around the world. I learned a lot of knowledge form biology, history, and culture about this book. After I listened these presentations I can understand more special vocabulary from biology and some plots in this book. It makes reading easier and interesting.
Common Reading is a great program for me. I don’t like reading but this time I finished reading this book before teacher’s schedule. Usually, I read a book is only for answer teacher’s questions and pass the test. After test, I will forget most of knowledge I learned from book. When I wrote this essay was 2 months after Common Reading, I still can remember most plot in the book and what I was discussed in the class. Interest is the best teacher, Common Reading makes me realize what’s the meaning of this motto.
Common Reading helped me experience college life. Before Common Reading, college for me was a new land. I was scared in college life because I know nothing about it. During Common Reading, I talked with college student and joined in some activity in college. I experienced a part of college life by myself, it more interesting than i thought. After Common Reading, I am sure I want to be a college student.
This semester, I am greatly honored to join in Common Reading program as a Clip student. It’s first time I enjoyed reading a book. College students and us share the knowledge that we learned from same book. It makes me want to be a college student.
